Well, pretty much took the weekend off in terms of birding. Every once in a while, I think I just need to go out and not worry about identifying and counting every bird I see. Instead I just went out and just enjoyed looking for birds and trying to get some decent photos.

I love the markings on this Red-tailed Hawk, seen on Skinner Lane, 1/12/14.

  1. Hi, I posted some pictures on FB. I really like your Northern Harrier, the shot came out really nice. I can’t believe you found birds at the kill. I am hoping the weather will be great on Wed. I am off that day!! The grasslands was pretty quiet. We saw Harriers and a rough leg hanging out, but Bruce and I missed the SEOWs they had been up early that day.

    1. Love the Snowy Owl shot on FB! I wonder if that bird will stick around until this weekend?

  2. Hi Matt. Gorgeous shot of the grey ghost (the first one)! I was at Lib Loop on Mon; would’ve been nice to get those swans…maybe later; snowing heavily right now.

    1. Marianne – glad you like the gray ghost shot , it made me happy for sure. There were more Tundra Swans in the black dirt today – 21!!!
      And a Snowy Owl! Wooohooo!
