I got out briefly this morning in the rain and fog and managed to get a few shots of the above light morph Rough-legged Hawk. This bird was located on Jessup Switch Road in Goshen, but I initially went out to Indiana Road where I had five RLHAs yesterday evening (2 dark morphs and 3 light).

I like this shot. The markings on the head show nicely.
I was beginning to think you and John H were slacking off on bird pics. I go to work in the dark and mostly come home in the dark, so it is nice to see the pictures you both put up each day.
I have to go to Kingston tomorrow AM, so I’m going to try to make the grasslands around 3pm on my way back home. Hopefully it won’t be flooded. I don’t know enough about it, if it will flood in areas or not. Hopefully the sun will shine!!!!!!!!
Wilma,
This time of year is tough – depending on what time I get out of work, I only have about a half hour of daylight on weekdays. I feel like I am always up against the clock. I was really happy to get a decent shot yesterday morning, in spite of the gray foggy conditions.
Good luck at the grasslands!
Matt
