Tonight, Tricia and I are flying to Ireland for a week of vacation. It’s been a while since we were there and I am excited because I feel like both my birding and my photography have improved to an extent that will make the trip that much more enjoyable for me. Because it’s a family vacation, I don’t have any concrete plans yet for birding; I think I’m going to mostly play it by ear, but regardless I know I’ll get out a good bit and it should hopefully be interesting. Stay tuned – with any luck, I will publish my first post about it a week from Sunday (07/15/18).
Safe travels Matt – and enjoy every moment. We all look forward to whatever birding adventures and photos you share. Remember it’s a “family” vacation. Best – JZ
Have great trip…we’re called twitchers in the UK, home of birders who think nothing of sitting on a bluff overlooking the Channel while the wind blows at 50.
Thanks Wayne. Good to hear from you, it’s been a while. Matt
It should be a good one Jeff – good times with good people. Matt
Have a great trip! Can’t wait to see what you get!
Thanks John- I can’t wait either! Matt
Enjoy your trip to the Emerald Isle. Just got home from Ohio and North Carolina. Stopped in Monroe , New Jersey to get the black bellied tree ducks. We leave the 29th for Croatia, Slovenia, and Romania. Although not primarily a bidding trip I will work some in. To date I have been in 27 European countries. Still need to set foot on Ireland
Damn, you get around Bruce. I’ve been to many European countries, but unfortunately all were before I took up birding. Have a great trip, and you’ll have to get to Ireland one of these days. Matt
Have a great trip Matt. We were there in April 2016 for a brief visit, but had great weather at the cliffs of Moher and enjoyed the various crow species and magpies around Dublin.
Looking forward to your photos!
Safe travels to you and Tricia, Matt! Looking forward to hearing about your adventures and seeing your photos.
Have a great time.
I can’t wait to see you photos from the trip.
I hope you have lots of cards!!!
