{"id":6179,"date":"2016-08-14T15:25:54","date_gmt":"2016-08-14T19:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orangebirding.com\/?p=6179"},"modified":"2016-08-14T15:30:00","modified_gmt":"2016-08-14T19:30:00","slug":"hidden-heron-81416","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orangebirding.com\/?p=6179","title":{"rendered":"Hidden Heron, 8\/14\/16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just a week and a day after getting decent photos of an <a href=\"https:\/\/orangebirding.com\/?p=6141\">adult Black-crowned Night-Heron at DeKorte Park<\/a>, I was\u00a0pleasantly surprised by this juvenile that I saw\u00a0this morning at Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge.\u00a0I inadvertently flushed the bird when I paused on the trail to watch an American Kestrel hunting. I watched as the heron briefly flew, then\u00a0landed and stashed itself in the heavy vegetation.
