{"id":12508,"date":"2023-06-10T17:06:30","date_gmt":"2023-06-10T21:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orangebirding.com\/?p=12508"},"modified":"2023-06-10T17:06:30","modified_gmt":"2023-06-10T21:06:30","slug":"black-rock-forest-06-10-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orangebirding.com\/?p=12508","title":{"rendered":"Black Rock Forest, 06\/10\/23"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It was five years ago today that I finally got <a href=\"https:\/\/orangebirding.com\/?p=8217\">my first Ruffed Grouse in Orange County.<\/a> The location was at Jupiter&#8217;s Boulder in Black Rock Forest, so I headed there first thing this morning, hoping to finally get lucky again. Unfortunately, I had no luck with the grouse, but it was a beautiful and birdy hike. I enjoyed a couple of my favorite summer birds &#8211; Acadian Flycatcher and Yellow-throated Vireo. Another highlight was a low flyover of a Broad-winged Hawk while I ate my snack and drank some water right beside Jupiter&#8217;s Boulder.
